- The US Army TACOM-Picatinny Center for Contracting and Commerce, Picatinny, NJ anticipates issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the production of the XM982 Excalibur 155mm projectile packaging system. The RFP will be for a base year plus four (4) one-year options, for a total five (5) production years. The Excalibur packaging system consists of a ???palletized unit??? including nine (9) metal containers with nine (9) sets of foam, six (6) C-Channel spacers, a pallet top adapter, a pallet base, and strapping in accordance with established Technical Data Package. Delivery will be made to the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in McAlester OK. A technical data package will be available with the RFP when issued. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 332995. The Government reserves the right to make multiple awards. This pre-solicitation notice does not constitute a formal RFP. The competitive RFP can be downloaded from the website located at http://procnet.pica.army.mil on or about 31 May 2006. The deadline for all proposals will be close of business 30 June 2006.
