- Description
- Self-sustaining US flag roll-on/roll-off vessel or tug/barge unit with a 30-ton crane. Minimum 3,000 shaft horsepower tug for a tandem tow tug/barge configuration. Minimum 2,500 shaft horsepower required for a single tow tug/barge configuration. Max LOA of vessel?s side ramp (if applicable) shall be 255 feet. Max LOA of vessel?s stern ramp (if applicable) shall be 450 feet. Vessel shall be capable of ballasting down via fixed/portable pumps. Vessel?s ramp hinge shall be no greater than 6 feet above the height of the pier at Mean Low Water. All cargo shall be stowed under deck. In accordance with Section IIIA.3 of the Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA) (see 69 FEDERAL REGISTER 25166-25168, May 5, 2004, or most current reference), preference will be given to and VISA participants.
