Description: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a need to perform major rehabilitation on the Main and Back Channel Dams, Emsworth Locks and Dams, Ohio River, Allegheny County, PA. The work to be performed under this contract consists of furnishing all plant, materials, equipment, supplies, and labor to install a sheet pile wall, precast pile cap, tremie infill concrete, and grout bags immediately downstream of the existing Emsworth Main Channel Dam Apron. An awardable option will be incl uded in this contract for the installation of soil anchors for stabilizing the existing abutment wall and a 160 LF pipe pile and sheet pile combination wall installed riverward of the existing abutment to facilitate grade separation for the proposed scour protection. This feature also includes a concrete paving slab and grouted riprap protection between the new wall and the existing abutment wall and river bank, respectively. The apron protection and abutment wall stabilization subfeatures are integral co mponents of the comprehensive Emsworth Dam Rehabilitation Project. The period of performance for this contract is 180 calendar days after the contractor receives the notice to proceed. Magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Pursuan t to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program established by Public Law 100-656, Business Opportunity Development Reform Act of 1988, this procurement will be unrestricted and any resulting award will be made pursuant to the above program . The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately June 5, 2006, on-line only through FedTeDS; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored.
