- The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Station Support/Simplified Acquisition (SS/SA) Branch has a requirement on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to provide meeting space for a Scientific Retreat. This requirement is being competed using FAR 13 procedures and quotations are being sought. Reference No: RFQ60028 The NIMH Intramural Scientific Retreat is scheduled for September 18-19, 2006 and fulfils the conference/meeting criteria for training under the government Employees Training Act (5 U.S.C. 410.404). This training conference is for research fellows of the intramural research program in an intimate and reflective atmosphere to foster interaction, exchange of ideas and group cohesiveness. This training is a unique and essential annual program to keep intramural scientist abreast of research, to encourage collaborations among scientists, and to stimulate initiatives that will translate from basic to clinical research. The program is an intense two-day program that includes two evenings for each member and at least two or more extramural guest speakers on research findings and techniques. The NIMH fellows have tapped into and cut across basic and clinical mental health research opportunities and will use these sessions to enhance networking. A poster session is planned on the last day as an opportunity for the scientific researchers to exchange views on critical findings. Requirements: a) Date: September 18-19, 2006 b) Start Time: September 18 at 7:00 am - 11:00 pm c) End Time: September 19 at 8:00 am - 7:00 pm Location: More than 50 miles but less than 80 miles from 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD. 20892. (National Institutes of Health Campus). Type of Facility: Space must include a general session conference room, dining room and other intimate common areas for informal interactions in a self-contained building. It must be of a size and configuration to create an overall informal, intimate atmosphere to foster interaction, exchange of ideas and group cohesiveness and to ensure minimal distractions from non-retreat persons. Dining must accommodate group seating for all meals. Meals must be in a dining room setting and may be served by buffet, but not cafeteria, style. COST OF MEALS MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE QUOTED PRICE. Overnight Guests: 9/17 (26) - 9/18 (165) sleeping rooms These are single/double occupancy to include lodging, breakfast/lunch/dinner, continuous breaks, conference, facilites, and amenities. Day Guests: 300 Meeting Rooms: 2 per day (general meeting session) (classroom session) Audio Visual: 1 Dedicated Audiovisual Technician: 1 The quotations will be evaluated by the following criteria: Evaluation Criteria factors total: 100 % 1. Accessibility of hotel staff: (10 point) conference support, (furnish materials and setup/ removal) and audio technician. 5.
