- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Drydocking and repairs to the USCGC MORRO BAY (WTGB 106) a 140 foot Icebreaking Tug. The homeport of the USCGC MORROW BAY is located at New London, Connecticut. The repairs shall be performed at the contractor’s facility. The performance period is 42 calendar days and is expected to begin on or about 29 JULY 2006. The acquisition will be solicited Total Small Business Set-Aside. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about May 24, 2006. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. The work items include but are not limited to: Welding Repairs, Clean and Inspect Fuel and Oil Tanks, Clean Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks, Remove Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shaft, Renew Stern Tube Bearing, Renew Stern Tube Bearing Staves, Remove Inspect and Reinstall Propeller, Perform Minor Repairs and Reconditioning of Propeller, Preserve Transducer Hull Ring, Overhaul and Renew Valves, Remove Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assembly, Renew Rudder Bearings, Overhaul Anchor and Anchor Chain, Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks, Preserve Weather Decks, Preserve Underwater Body, Preserve Freeboard, Reseal Cosmetic Polymeric Deck Covering Systems, Renew Deck Covering Systems, Provide Temporary Logistics, Routine Drydocking, Modify Chain Stopper Foundation, Modify Chain Locker Deck Drain System, Laydays, GFP Report. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For information concerning this acquisition contact the Contracting Official listed above.
