- Description
- The Government intends to execute an unrestricted procurement for the production, and distribution, of bulk Liquid Methane, which meets the requirements of the DESC purchase description for Propellant, Methane, dated 13 April 2006. The product will be delivered FOB Destination to two locations, NASA White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, NM and Aerojet Test Area in Rancho Cordova, CA. The estimated quantity for both locations is 21,700 gallons delivered in contractor furnished bulk tanker trucks. Contractor shall provide all production, raw materials, supplies, management, tools, equipment, and labor necessary for the production and distribution of Liquid Methane. The intended use is as a fuel for engine development. The Government also seeks the temporary storage tank at NASA White Sands Test Facility. This portable/mobile storage tank may be provided by the liquid methane offeror or an offeror who provides storage tanks. The storage tank shall be leased by the government on a month to month basis. It is anticipated that the customer will only require a portable/mobile storage tank on a temporary basis to be used only until customer?s permanent tank farm is ready for operation. Award will be on a CLIN by CLIN basis. The Government reserves the right to award up to three separate contracts, one for liquid methane at each location and another for the temporary portable bulk storage container. The performance period shall be from 17 Jul 06 ? 31 Aug 06. Location 1: NASA White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, NM requires approximately 5,700 gallons of Propellant, Methane. Initial delivery of 2,700 gallons is required before 01 August 2006, but not earlier than 17 July 2006. Additional deliveries may be required. The temporary storage tank must either be a skid mounted or other portable/mobile storage tank suitable for storage of the delivered liquid methane (Grade B, IAW DESC Purchase Description, dated 13 Apr 2006). Location 2: Aerojet Test Area A (30010) in Rancho Cordova, CA requires approximately 16,000 gallons of Propellant, Methane I AW DESC Purchase Description, dated 13 April 2006. Contractor shall be prepared to delivery 3,000 gallons before 01 December 2006, but not earlier than 01 November 2006 as directed by the government upon determination of required delivery date by Aerojet. Additional deliveries may be required. Subject solicitation will be issued on or about 19 May 2006 and posted to FedBizOpps web page at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/).
