Description
U.S. Army RDECOM Acquisition Center, Natick, MA has a requirement for 8000 yds. of Duro Blizzard polyester cloth and one (1) Drawing to be used in the creation of print screens for optimized experimental camouflage pattern. The Government anticipate s awarding one (1) Firm-Fixed Price Order to Duro Textiles L.L.C. located in Fall River MA. This order is being awarded to improve the USMC overwhite parka and trouser overgarments for mountain cold weather where each finished garment will weigh no more t han 0.65 lbs each and self stow in a 6in. x 9in. pocket within the garment. To meet this requirement, the Government requires a synthetic fabric that weighs no more than 2.2 oz per sq.yd. with high tear strength of 7 lbs (min) in each warp and filling dir ection. Moreover the cloth must have a water repellent treatment durable to 50 laundering cycles, low air permeability of 40 cfm (max), good drapeability with 1.8 inch stiffness, soft hand for low noise signature when moving in the overgarment, and be op aque to prevent woodland MARPAT undergarment strike through that diminishes the snow camouflage cover. The cloth will be printed with a disruptive white, dark gray, light gray and mountain green disruptive MARPAT pattern modified for effectiveness in snow terrain to match the temporary standard sample for visual matching and infra-red reflectance. Duro Textiles Blizzard polyester cloth meets these requirements. The purpose of the order is production prove-out of properties where the cloth will be utilized in overwhite overgarments for winter 07 validation. Delivery shall be FOB destination (contractor) Fall River, MA and inspection and acceptance shall be at destination (to be determined) by the contractor. The North American Industry Classification Sys tem Identifier for this procurement is 313311; the Small Business Size Standard is 1000 employees.
