Description
Request for information for Alternate Display Engine for M1A2 Second Generation Thermal Imaging System Biocular Image Control Unit (BICU)  The Science and Technology Division of the Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (RDECOM CERDEC) is soliciting informational white papers for alternate display engine solutions to replace the current cathode ray tube (CRT) display engines in the BICU of the M1A2 Gen II Thermal Imaging System. The alternate technology solution shall be a form, fit and fun ction replacement of the existing CRT display. The form, fit and function may include, but shall not be limited to, an electro-optic light modulator/emitter (display), display driver electronics, and associated optics for the binocular and monocular displa y channel outputs. The technology solution shall, when integrated into the BICU, meet the operational and environmental requirements of the Performance Specification for the Horizontal Technology Integration Program M1A2 Second Generation Thermal Imaging S ystem Biocular Image Control Unit (MIL-PRF-12978041A, 10 August 2000). A complete list of requirements is available upon request from the point of contact listed below. In addition to online question and answers, direct discussions regarding potential disp lay technology solutions are permitted. Display technology demonstrations, provided at no cost to the Government are permitted and encouraged. Viable solutions may result in further discussions and contractual agreements to procure a form, fit, function eq uivalent for the next M1A2 BICU procurement.
