Description

The U. S. Army Tankautomotive and Armament Command, Rock Island (TACOM-RI) anticipates awarding a sole source contract, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, to Honeywell Incorporated, Clearwater, FL to perform and document a study to determine and track obsolete parts and repair/upgrade the Dynamic Reference Unit, Hybrid (DRUH), Part Number 12967900, NSN 6605-01-422-0715 in support of the M109A6 Paladin Self Propelled Howitzer and the FireFinder Radar System. The DRUH is a GPS aided inertial navigation s ystem used on the M109A6 Paladin Self Propelled Howitzer and the FireFinder Radar Systems. The DRUH contains electronic components that are no longer in production. The repair/upgrade will be in accordance with MIL-PRF-71185. The obsolescence identificat ion and tracking requirement will support the need for the government to determine the supportability of the DRUH and plan for its eventual redesign or replacement. The Government does not own the technical data package for the DRUH, which was produced by Honeywell, Incorporated. Currently, Honeywell repairs the DRUH. Firms that can perform the DRUH obsolescence study are encouraged to identify themselves to the contract specialist or contracting office and indicate if the firm is large, small, or small di sadvantaged. This is a market survey/sources sought synopsis for information only and shall not be construed to be a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The Government is interested in prime contractors only.
