Description

The White Sands Missile Range Contracting Office intends to award on a sole source basis to L-3 Pulse Sciences, 2700 Merced St., San Leandro, CA 94577-5602. This requirement includes magnetron modulator upgrades to existing, previously procured cont ainer from L-3. The upgrades will include the designing of a magnetron modulator (6MW) to drive multiple high power magnetrons (up to 3 MW), the VMS 1143B magnetron is a prime example. The 6MW Modulator System will be a subsystem of the second peak power c ontainer L-3 is building for WSTC using all the controls, interlocks and software currently being installed in said container. This upgrade will provide WSTC the capability to operate Magnetrons in excess of 1 MW. Pulse Sciences has proprietary rights on t he upgrade of system and is the only known source that can meet our requirement. Other than full an open comptetition will be used under the authority of FAR 6.301-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Require ment.
