?This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the NSWC Division Crane.? MARKET SURVEY ? SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: This is a sources sought announcement for a 20 MM Anti Material Rifle. All sources of any type of rifle capable of firing the required projectiles at a muzzle velocity of no less than 2500 feet per second please respond. The Government is interested in ultimately attaining a rifle that can be made operable with the older but available 20 X 110 MM M90 and M200 series ammunition types which have been used in M3, M24A1, and MK16 guns. The M90 series ammunition uses M36A1 (MK 31) percussion primers, 490 grains of IMR-4879 propellant to fire 1890 and 2030 grain projectiles. The M200 series uses M36A1E1 percussion primers and IMR 7013 or WC 875 propellant. Weapons with designs requiring significant modification for use of this ammunition type would be considered, however, design changes should be noted. A man portable prone shoulder fired weapon is desired. Rifle action can be single shot of any type, magazine fed, bolt action or semi! ? automatic. Light system weight is a goal. Vendors please provide price and availability information on weapons. Test quantities of government ammunition (M99 or M204 TP rounds) may be made available to companies that the government believes to have potential to meet this desired capability. Respondents are requested to provide pricing and availability information to include any discounts based on quantity. A respondent to this market survey should have available a majority of the skills and facilities that are required to manufacture the rifle. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc.) available, the respondent must be able to demonstrate the ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. Interested companies who feel they possess the necessary capabilities should respond by providing the Government the following information: point of contact, address, telephone and fax numbers, email addresses, duns number, cage code and/or tax ID number, size category (large/small, disadvantaged, etc.), location (domestic or foreign), a brief summary of the company?s capabilities, description of facilities, personnel, related manufacturing experience, and existing safety approvals. Also provide any supporting information such as commercial literature, catalogues, manuals, etc. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors or subcontractors must meet these criteria.
