- NOUN: Fan duct; NSN: 2840-01-386-8242NZ; PN: 4081360; QTY: 92 or 184 or 276; U/I: Each; DELIVERY: Beginning OCT 2007 to Tinker AFB OK; APPLICABLE TO: F100 PW ENGINES; SIZE/DIMENSIONS: Overall diameter: 34.83 inches nominal; overall length: 30.205 inches nominal ; PREDOMINANT MATERIAL: titanium ; FORM/FIT/FUNCTION: Funnels fan inlet air for cooling along outer duct and provides mounting for engine accessories. Anticipated Solicitation Issue Date: 23 May 2006; Anticipated Award Date: 24 Jul 2006. Qualification requirements exist for this item. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved sources. The solicitation will provide line items for a first article proposal. However, the Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. Further information on how to become source approved and further information regarding the Qualification requirements may be found at www-ext.tinker.af.mil/BC/. The government owns the drawings for this item. To receive Government drawings, FEDTEDs registration is required. The following are currently approved sources: UTC, Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford CT. SAC-Terre Haute, IN. Chem-Tronics, El Cajon, CA. No telephone solicitation requests well be accepted. NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the Program Manager or Contracting Officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
