Description

Lock 4 Slot Installation work includes all plant, labor, materials, and equipment to construct new Bulkhead recesses at Lock 4 near Alma, Wisconsin. The new bulkhead recesses, with bulkheads fabricated under a separate contract, will replace the cur rent Poiree Dam dewatering system for the Locks. Principle work items include, but are not limited to demolition, recess fabrication and installation (including covers), concrete work, reinforcement, dewatering, and removal and reinstallation of lock wall appurtenances. In addition the downstream recesses will required the removal of the existing anchor bars and anchorages, fabrication of new anchor bars and anchorages, temporary support and protection of the miter gates, miter gate adjustment, and minor electrical alterations. Lead paint and/or primers exist on painted surfaces and asbestos may be present in some of the electrical casings. This contract will consist of a base and two separate options. The base items include most of the fabricated steel items. Option 1 provides for the work to be performed beginning 04 December 2006 and completed NLT 28 February 2007 if the Government exercises the option on or before 20 October 2006. Option 2 incorporates the work items in Option 1, but calls for the w ork items to be optioned between 21 October 2006 and 31 March 2007 for work to be performed beginning 03 December 2007 and completed NLT 29 February 2008. Option 2 is for the price increase or decrease associated with performing the work items in Option 1 beginning 03 December 2007 and completing NLT 29 February 2008. THIS PROCUREMENT IS ISSUED UNRESTRICTED UNDER THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVE DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM (PUBLIC LAW 100-656). NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) CODE IS 237990 AND THE SIZE STANDARD OF $31 MILLION AVERAGE ANNUAL GROSS REVENUE. It is anticipated that this solicitation will be available 31 May 2006.
