- EMERGENCY PROCUREMENT Rewinding of motors at Pump Station Numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7, New Orleans, LA. This is an UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT and BEST VALUE. Contractors may bid on any or all of the Line Items. The Government reserves the right to make either one single award or multiple awards from this solicitation. Estimated cost of this requirement is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The solicitation will be issued on or about 2 May 2006. Proposals are due 5 May 2006, 3:00 p.m., loc al time and place. Work shall consist of furnishing all plant, equipment (including safety equipment such as steel toed shoes, hard hat, etc.), materials, and labor required for the performance of rewinding all field pole coils, replacement of stator wind ings and testing specified pump motors ( stators and rotors) at Orleans Parish pump stations in the New Orleans area in accordance with these specifications. The Government and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB of N.O.) shall be informed o f all work to be performed and prior to work commencing on any pump motor. The work shall include the painting of the motor pits as required by the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans. A written specification of the cleaning of the pits, preparation of the pit surfaces, and the paint to be used shall be submitted in written form by the Contractor to the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans for signed approval. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the specifications contained in this document. Bidders may arrange to visit pump stations by telephoning the S&WB of N.O at 504-865-0409. The locations of the work to be performed and detailed information of each pump station is listed in the bid schedule. The Contractor must be available to commence work within five (5) calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed, prosecute work diligently and complete the work of rewinding and testing of each pump motor or motors where two or more motors are damaged in a pump station. All work is to be completed not later than thirty five (35) calendar days for one pump motor or two or more pump motors worked concurrently, seventy (70) calendar days for two pump motors worked consecutively, one hundred five calendar (105) days for three pump motors work ed consecutively and one hundred forty (140) calendar days for four pumps worked consecutively after receipt of notice to proceed. Each work day is defined as 10 hours of work, exclusive of travel time. The following shall be submitted: Schedule of Work, personnel resumes with experience, locations where components will be shipped, test and start up procedures. Copies of certifications for Certified Installers and Technicians shall be submitted along with the Prospective Bidders proposal. For security reasons, all technical and engineering data related to this solicitation will be distributed using the Federal Technical Data Solutions (FedTeDS) system.
