Description
The government intends to procure one commercially available High Energy Digital X-ray Imaging System capable of imaging test items 16 feet in length and weighing up to 12,000 pounds from Envision Product Design, Anchorage, AK to aid in its mission o f inspecting and evaluating components associated with weapon systems. The high energy digital x-ray imaging system shall consist of but is not limited to the following components: 9 MeV Linear accelerator, CMOS High-Resolution Linear scanning array, Movement system for Imaging Platform, Precision Movement stage for Linear Array, Movement System for Linear Accelerator Platform, Cabling system, Industrial Workstation with card sets and dual displays, Imaging Software Package, Custom Software for Motion Controls Stages, On site system installation and training, Automated Stands for Part Support and Handling, Relational Data base software. The government requires an imaging system with the best possible image quality. The Statement of Work includes Component Performance Standards. Envision Product Designs Complementary Metal Oxide Silicon (CMOS) detectors have better spatial resolution and higher fill factor than similar technologies. The Envision product achieves greater sensitivity and signal noise ratios, a linear accelerator with higher radiation output than any other and their off axis arrangement of scanning array reduces the noise pro blem and detector degradation associated with other technologies. This also eliminates blooming and latent images. The scanning technique employed by Envision eliminates the radiographic parallax along the scan direction which eliminates the positional unc ertainty of interior components of the test item and also makes possible to produce an image of unlimited length. The format height is determined by the array length, other designs have finite format sizes. There is no other source that manufactures a digi tal x-ray imaging product that will satisfy all agency requirements. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be fully considered by the agency.
