Description

The intent of the contract is to rehabilitate Road No. 354 on the Nez Perce National Forest to improve maintenance characteristics, aquatic habitat, and water quality best management practices (BMP?s). Road No. 354 is located south of White Bird, Idaho on the Salmon River Ranger District in T. 27N., R.3E., and R.4E, BM.. This project includes reconditioning approximately 10 miles of roadway, furnishing and placing aggregate surfacing, from a commercial source, on approximately 8 miles of roadway, drainage improvements, culvert replacements, construction of reinforced embankment retaining walls, placing riprap, constructing gabion walls, and planting vegetation along stream banks. Furnish all labor, material, equipment, tools, transportation and supplies necessary to complete work according to contract. The estimated price range for this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Construction is expected to begin in July 2006.
