Description
The US Army ARDEC-Picatinny Arsenal, NJ seeks to procure a tactical tripod kit to support the Leupold?? Mark 4?? 12-40x60mm Tactical Spotting Scope with MIL Dot Reticule (Part # 53756), as currently used by US Army snipers. The kit includes a tactical tripod assembly, soft carrying case, and storage/transportation case. The tactical tripod will be a lightweight and rugged support structure to provide for quick release of the spotting scope via a detachable plate or a quick release mechanism. The tactical tripod will be design to be rugged and be adjustable in height preferably from prone to sitting position. The tripod will also support the spotting scope in night vision configuration (NVC). The NVC consists of an AN/PVS-14 Monocular Night Vision Device (manufactured by Northrop Grumman) attached to the spotting scope???s eyepiece via Monoloc?? (manufactured by Tactical Solutions). The soft carrying case will store and protect the spotting scope, anti-reflection device (ARD), laser filter unit (LFU), Monoloc??, and tripod assembly; it must comply with various environmental strains to include resistance to tear and fungal growth. The transportation/storage case will hold the soft carrying case with its designated contents; it must feature a pressure relief valve and retain a watertight seal when submersed under water. All requirements of the Tactical Tripod Kit must be met as specified in Purchase Description (PD), and Statement of Work (SOW). Firm fixed price with 4 years of options will be exercised in this solicitation. RDT&E funds have been initially identified for this procurement with initial quantity requirements of 30 kits; no FAT is required for this phase. A potential maximum quantity in options is 9300 kits for phase II production. The estimated RDT&E phase delivery date is 05 June 2006, and will be delivered to Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806.
