Description
Contractor to provide healthcare resources in accordance with Public Law 104.262, 38 U.S.C. 8153 and VAAR Part 873. Contractor agrees to provide Gastroenterology Services at the VA Medical Center, 4815 Assembly, Spokane WA. 99205. Contractor agrees to provide Interim Gastroenterologist services at the VA Medical Center, 4815 N Assembly St, Spokane WA. 99205. Gastroenterologist shall be Board Certified in Gastroenterology. Services performed will be on an interim basis with a schedule developed between the contractor and the Spokane VAMC. Performance is scheduled on an as needed basis, to cover vacancies due to vacations and leave of absences. This schedule will be determined by VA needs and physician availability during routine business hours (8:00am _ 4:30pm, ? Hour Lunch). Some months may entail no coverage, while others could be up to 2 weeks, depending on the needs and availability of both parties. Candidates must be skilled clinical GI and endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic and interventional procedures. The primary duties are to perform outpatient GI consults and procedures. A small portion of the time is spent performing in-patient GI consults and providing specialty-specific in-patient follow-up. All work is performed at the VA Medical Center Spokane Washington. The endoscopy unit performs approximately ten endoscopic procedures per day. The estimated monthly volume is, EGD-35, Colonsocopy-40-50, Flex Sig- 20-30, ERCP-1-2, Liver Biopsy 5, Peg Tube 1-2. ERCP skills are not required. Computer skills are required as the medical records system is electronic. All imagery is digital. Dates of service will be scheduled as far in advance as possible to ensure a smooth planning process. Contract period shall run from May 1, 2006 through April 30, 2007 with four additional option years through April 30, 2011. Price is an all-inclusive rate of per diem, travel, and price/cost. Providers will need to be scheduled for orientation/training prior to the start of their weekday shift, at the government_s expense. THIS PROCUREMENT IS 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS ONLY.
