- Medical Supplies - Potential Sources Sought Military Hospitals: (Army, Navy, Air Force) Southwest Region HOT & COLD THERAPY SUPPLIES: Standardization Point of Contact: Cindy Ingrao, Clinical Consultant, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, Southwest Region, San Diego, CA. Telephone: (619) 532-8517. Potential sources sought to participate in the regional standardization of Hot & Cold Therapy Supplies. Southwest Region, a military integrated delivery network (IDN), comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical treatment centers in California are in the process of standardizing Hot & Cold Therapy Supplies. If your company currently holds or is in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP) on Hot & Cold Therapy Supplies, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. Please respond by Email: cingrao@nmcsd.med.navy.mil and provide your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax and E-mail address and answers to the below listed questions no later than April 10, 2006. For questions, please call (619) 532-8517. 1.Does your company manufacture and/or distribute heat (moist/dry/air activated, electric pads, hot and cold compresses, wraps, systems) and cold therapy supplies for adult and pediatric clinical use? 2.Are your products available through the Prime Vendor, Owens & Minor and/or Cardinal? 3.What is your DAPA Number? 4.Under what brand(s) does your company manufacture or distribute your products? 5.Under what standards is your products manufactured? 6.Are your products non-toxic and latex free? 7.Do your products contain chemicals which require a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)? If so, does your company provide copies at no cost? 8.What types of heat and cold therapy supplies does your company manufacture? 9.What sizes do your heat and cold packs/compresses, etc. come in? 10.What materials are your packs/compresses, etc. made of? 11.Are your wraps self closing? 12.Does your company provide sterile wraps/pads? 13.Does your company manufacture heating and chilling units for your packs? If so, in what sizes/capacities? Do your units require plumbing? 14.Does your company maintain the heating and chilling units? If so, what is your maintenance program? 15.What is the lifetime of your products? And do you provide a loaner program for products that breakdown? 16.Are your heating pads programmable with safety features to protect against inconsistent changes in temperature? 17.Do your cold systems require electricity? 18.What are the temperature ranges of your heat and cold products? 19.What is the heating or cooling method used for your products? 20.What are the features that make your cold system better than any other? 21.Are your cold systems compatible with other manufacturer?s pads/wraps? 22.Are your products designed to resist damage under normal use? 23.Are there any other products/accessories required to run the original product? 24.Are your heat and cold therapy supplies designed to minimize cross contamination? 25.What is the portability of the units and/or packs? 26.Can your units or packs be used at home? 27.Are there any specific protocols for your products? 28.How do you clean and disinfect the products? 29.Are your heat and cold therapy supplies leak proof? 30.How do you products compare to your competitors and can you provide anything extra that sets you apart? 31.Are there any customer testimonies or other facilities using your products now and for how long? 32.What is the warranty on your products? 33.What types of educational tools or materials do you have for this product line? 34.What kind of staff training does your company provide? 35.Does your company provide customer service 24/7? 36.Is there a website for more information that we can check at our convenience? 37.Is there any history of backorders and/or recalls for this product group?
