Description
The VA Medical Center (VAMC), 4100 W. Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428, has a requirement to remove and replace twenty (20) fire hydrants. Hydrant numbers are 2, 4, 6, 15, 16, 19, 25, 29, 35, 37, 38, 44, 45, 46, 47, 49, 50, 62, 65, and 66. Install four foot hydrants, Muller brand with Dayton threads, right open, left closed on hydrants, if watch valves are not installed on existing fire hydrants, they shall be installed during the installation of the new hydrants and shall be right closed and left open. Use 30-inch Gradelok connectors, or comparable connectors with prior written approval by VA Engineering, for connection of fire hydrants to existing water mains. The contractor will be responsible for returning surfaces and materials disturbed during fire hydrant removal and replacement (e.g., sidewalks, road surfaces, lawns) to original condition. The contractor will dispose of removed fire hydrants at an appropriate disposal facility off the VA Medical Center grounds. IFB552-16-06 will be issued on or about April 3, 2006, with a closing date on or abour May 3, 2006. THIS REQUIREMENT HAS BEEN SET ASIDE FOR HISTORICALLY UNDERUTILIZED BUSINESS (HUB) ZONE SMALL BUSINESS. Estimate cost range is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Period of performance shall be 120 days. The Noth America Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 237110 and the Small Business Standard is $12,000,000.00. Bid bonds, Payment and Performance bonds will be required. The solicitation package, specs and drawings will be available on or about April 3, 2006, with a bid opening date on or about May 3, 2006. All correspondence regarding the solicitation contents or general questions must be addressed in writing on the firm?s letterhead, containing a point of contact (POC), the solicitation number, and phone and fax numbers and must be addressed to the Contracting Officer listed. Correspondence may be faxed to 937-262-5974. A ONE TIME site visit will be scheduled and that information will be in the solicitation package. Offerors are encouraged to attend. Failure to attend this ONE TIME ONLY site visit shall not relieve the successful Contractor from compliance with all of the specifications, terms and conditions of resultant contract. All offerors must be registered in www.ccr.gov to do business with the Government. Ensure your registration is correct, current and has not expired. The procurement is subject to the availability of funds. See numbered note 27.
