Description
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Technical Operation Branch, is seeking information relating sources to provide capability statements and descriptive literature for products that can meet ATF?s requirement for ?undercover? or concealment type body armor. ATF is responsible for providing additional Level IIIA ballistic protection in a concealed vest package to its Special Agents conducting high-risk enforcement type activities. This will enhance ATF?s investigative efforts by enabling Special Agents to more comfortably conduct surveillances and when needed, enter a covert situation and still be protected from ballistic threats. The requested body armor systems must meet at least the National Institute of Justice Standard 0101.04 for level IIIA protection and must be readily concealable under clothing. ?Meets or exceeds NIJ Standard 0101.04 for threat level IIIA ?Must be readily concealed under clothing reasonable for use in a covert operation ?Must be warranted for at least 5 years ?Capable of accepting blunt trauma inserts ?Front and rear shirt tails The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is issuing this Request for Information to conduct market research to gather information regarding sources that can meet its requirements for Level IIIA concealment type ballistic vest.
