Description
Installation of erosion control practices along 1.8 miles of primary paved road (Golden Arrow Road) on Fort Jackson, SC. Work includes repair of existing road shoulders and drainage channels (finish grading), construction of diversions and waterways, aluminum pipe installation, riprap placement, recycled asphalt application, seeding and erosion control blanket installation. Estimated quantities of the major items of work includes: 12 acres of seeding; 17,000 S.Y. of erosion control blanket; 90 L.F. of aluminum pipe; 650 Tons recycled, crushed asphalt; 1,350 L.F. of waterways; 181 Tons of loose rock riprap; 14,400 L.F. of shoulder and channel repair. Performance time is 61 calendar days (including mobilization). The estimated price is between the range of $25,000 and $100,000. This solicitation will be subject to full and open competition. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990. This solicitation will be available for viewing and/or downloading from website, www.fedbizopps.gov, on about March 27, 2006. Interested parties are invited to attend a pre-bid conference and site showing on April 5, 2006. The conference will begin at 9:00 a.m., in Building 2562, Directorate of Logistics and Engineering, located at the intersection of Engineer Road and Essayons Way, Fort Jackson Military Reservation, Columbia, SC. All persons planning to attend the pre-bid conference must enter the installation at Gate No. 2, Forest Drive. Upon arriving at the security checkpoint, you will be diverted through the far right hand lane. You will be asked to present a driver???s license or other photo identification for each occupant, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. You will be issued a temporary pass at that time. All vehicles are subject to search. Firearms will not be permitted. If you are asked the purpose of your visit, advise that you are going to the Engineering Office for a contract site showing. Directions to pre-bid meeting: Take I-77 to Forest Drive (Exit 12). Travel east on Forest Drive approximately ?? mile to Fort Jackson, Gate No. 2. Obtain a temporary pass. Upon entering the post, continue on Strom Thurmond Blvd. (same street as Forest Drive) to the 3rd traffic light. Turn right on Marion Avenue (at hospital). Travel approximately ?? mile past the 2nd traffic light and turn left on Engineer Road. Travel two short blocks to the end of Engineer Road. Building 2562 will be on your right. Park in any unreserved space outside the fenced enclosure.
