Description
Amendment No. 1 MCC-06-RFQ-0028: The due date for proposals is not extended. Questions and answers: 1. Question: The lease is for a period of 24 months, with an option of an additional 24 months. Will the contract be funded For 12 months subject to additional appropriation or will it be funded for 24 months with an option for additional months to be fully funded if exercised? Answer: Millennium Challenge Corporation has no year funding. The contract will be funded for the first 24 months. 2. Question: Will this vehicle be chauffeur driven? Answer: Yes 3. Question: The solicitation mentions Maintenance, however it is not clear whether the Government will provide Maintenance or maintenance would be included as part of the lease price. Answer: Maintenance cost must be included in the lease price. See page 3 of the RFQ. 4. Question: Can you provide an estimate as to the annual mileage that will be placed on the vehicle? Answer: The estimated annual miles is 4,000. 5. Question: Do you have a mandatory and/or desired delivery schedule? Answer: MCC is seeking delivery by August 1, 2006. However, if the vendor can provide sooner, please indicate such date in your Proposal. 6. Question: Will FAR 52.228-8 Liability and Insurance Leased Motor Vehicles be included in the contract clauses? Answer: Yes. See clause incorporated below. 7. Question: Will Government license plates be utilized? Answer: No 8. Question: Are there any options that you desire on this vehicle or any options that will disqualify a vehicle? I assume that you want the one with the fewest options that we can locate. Answer: There are no options that will disqualify a car. See page 2 of RFQ for the vehicle description. Clause Incorporated 52.217-9 Option to Extend the Term of the Contract. OPTION TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT (MAR 2000) (a) The Government may extend the term of this contract by written notice to the Contractor within 15 days; provided that the Government gives the Contractor a preliminary written notice of its intent to extend at least 60 before the contract expires. The preliminary notice does not commit the Government to an extension. (b) If the Government exercises this option, the extended contract shall be considered to include this option clause. (c) The total duration of this contract, including the exercise of any options under this clause, shall not exceed 48 months. 52.228-8 Liability and Insurance?Leased Motor Vehicles. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE?LEASED MOTOR VEHICLES (MAY 1999) (a) The Government shall be responsible for loss of or damage to? (1) Leased vehicles, except for? (i) Normal wear and tear; and (ii) Loss or damage caused by the negligence of the Contractor, its agents, or employees; and (2) Property of third persons, or the injury or death of third persons, if the Government is liable for such loss, damage, injury, or death under the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. 2671-2680).
