Description

The solicitation will consist of Base and Option Bid Items as follows: Base: Work is located in Entrance Channel Sector, Tampa Harbor, Florida and includes maintenance dredging an estimated 531,000 cubic yards of shoal material from Egmont Channel Cut 1, Station 490+00 to Station 520+00, to required depth of 45-feet plus 2-f oot allowable over depth. Commence placement of dredged material on Egmont Key located adjacent to Egmont Cut-2 between DEP beach monuments R-2 and R-10, approximately 1.4 miles. Work also includes geotextile tubes and debris removal, beach tilling, enda ngered species observers, and turbidity monitoring. Option A: Work is located in Entrance Channel Sector, Tampa Harbor, Florida and includes maintenance dredging an estimated 498,000 cubic yards of shoal material from Egmont Channel Cut 1, Station 120+00 to Station 490+00, to required depth of 45-feet plus 2-foot allowable over depth. Continue placement of dredged material on Egmont Key located adjacent to Egmont Cut-2 between DEP beach monuments R-2 and R-10, approximately 1.4 miles. Work also includes beach tilling, endangered species observers, and tur bidity monitoring. Option B: Maintenance dredge an estimated 294,000 cubic yards of shoal material from Egmont Channel Cut 1, Station 520+00 and Cut 2 to required depth of 45-feet plus 2-foot allowable over depth, and from Mullet Key Channel to required depth of 43-feet plu s 2-foot allowable over depth. Place dredged material on Ft. Desoto Beach Primary Area A and Secondary Area B (Mullet Key) located adjacent and northerly of Mullet Key Cut. Work also includes, beach tilling, endangered species observers, and turbidity mon itoring. Option C: Furnish and install two geotextile tubes on Egmont Key Beach to protect existing, historical batteries at Ft. Dade. Magnitude of construction is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. The solicitation will be issued on or about 6 March 2006 with bids due on or about 5 April 2006. There will be a price preference for certified HUBZone small business concerns that c omply with the requirements in the solicitation as stipulated in FAR 19.1307.
