Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to issue a competitive solicitation for a contract to provide an upgrade the Amphibious Assault Vehicle Upgunned Weapons Station M36E3 sight. The Upgunned Weapon Station (UGWS) M36E thermal sight shall increase the AAV's warfighting capability. The UGWS M36E3 thermal sight integration shall improve the target acquisition and engagement ranges for the AAV Weapon Station during adverse weather, obscurants, and night time engagement. Any resultant contract will consist of a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity for AAV Thermal Sight Systems. Specifically the requirement is broken into two phases, one is the System Development and Demonstration Phase (SDD) where the contractor shall design, develop, integrate, test and analyze, qualify, perform platform integration, and (deomonstrate production prove out material, facilities, support equipment, system test and evaluation, equipment containers, software training and training equipment, and personnel which includes test support for goverment testing), to accomplish all SDD objectives for the AAVS Thermal Sight which will be in accordance with in a SOO and System Requirements Document included in a the Request for Proposal. The contractor shall also provide production capabilites for approximately 1023 AAV Thermal Sight Systems. A Pre-Proposal Conference is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, 30 March 2006.
