- The scope of work includes but is not limited to providing repairs to the three elevations on Clark, LaSalle, and Harrison streets consisting of the following: 1) Extending all shelf angles supporting brickwork to provide adequate bearing depth for outer wythe of brick. 2) Replacing all excessively corroded support steel. 3) Cleaning and painting all support steel, not replaced. 4) Installing flashing and weep systems to provide exit paths for water that has infiltrated into the walls at shelf angles. 5) Installing a system of vertical and horizontal expansion joints to accomodate continuing movement of the facade's components. 6) Rebuilding the building's southeast and southwest corners, including full-height vertical expansion joints. 7) Installing flashing and weep systems at all window heads. 8) Rebuilding or tuckpointing all defective masonry and mortar joints. 9) Repairing or replacing damaged terra cotta and limestone. 10) Cleaning and painting the underside of all window lintels. 11) Cleaning the masonry including all terra cotta, limestone, and brick. The work will be performed at the Federal Building located at 536 South Clark Street, Chicago, Illinois. The contract completion time is 270 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. The project is set aside to both large and small business concerns. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 238140 with a size standard of $12.0 million. The estimated cost range is between $950,000.00 to $1,500,000.00. The solicitation will be issued on or about March 13, 2006. Interested parties must access the solicitation via the FedTeds website at www.fedteds.gov. The solicitation will not be available on the FedBizOpps website. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading the solicitation and monitoring the website for possible amendments and/or additional information . Contractors must be register on the FedTeds website to have access to solicitation material. This registration includes providing a Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN). In addition, beginning January 1, 2005, as required by the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) all vendors will be required to use the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) in federal solicitations as a part of the proposal submission.
