- SINGLE AND DOUBLE STEEL DRUM COMPACTORS, One (1) Each 1) This is a combined Synopsis/Solicitation for commercial items in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. 2) Purchase Requests F1W3F26017A100/F1W3F26017A200 are issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). 3) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAR Circular 2005-07 and Class Deviation 2005-o0001. 4) The solicitation is set aside 100% for Small Business. The NAICS Code is 532412; Size Standard: $6,500,000. 5) DESCRIPTION: CATERPILLAR CS563C or equal SINGLE STEEL DRUM VIBRATORY COMPACTOR: Vehicle must not be more than three years old. Compactor must be an articulating, vibratory, single drum compactor with hydrostatic drive and a diesel-fueled engine. The vehicle shall meet prescribed fuel economy standards. Drum shall be approximately 84 inches in width and 60 inches in diameter with a centifugal force maximum rating of Hi/Lo 67,000/32,000 pounds. Weight of machine shall be at least 29,000 pounds. Machine shall also be equipped with a Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) cab, heater, lights, windshield wipers, back-up alarm, and cleaning bar for drum. Daily maintenance such as checking and maintaining fluid levels for proper operation and daily lubrication shall be the responsibility of the government. All routine maintenance such as oil changes, periodic services and repairs shall be the responsibility of the contractor. The contractor shall make emergency repairs within three hours of being notified of repairs at no additional cost to the government. If a replacement vehicle is not available and the repairs take longer than three hours, a prorated deduction of the lease or a time compensation for an extension of the lease shall be granted to the government. Contractor shall be responsible for delivery of the vehicle at the beginning of the lease and will also be responsible for retrieval of the vehicle at the end of the lease. CATERPILLAR CB534 or equal DOUBLE STEEL DRUM VIBRATORY COMPACTOR: Vehicle must not be more than three years old. Compactor must be an articulating, vibratory, double drum compactor with hydrostatic drive and a diesel-fueled engine. The vehicle shall meet prescribed fuel economy standards. Drums shall be approximately 66 inches in width and 48 inches in diameter with a centrifugal force maximum rating of 26,000 pounds per drum. Weight of machine shall be at least 20,000 pounds. Shall be equipped with a water tank (250 gallon minimum with a system to deliver water to each steel drum for the purpose of rolling hot mix asphalt. Machine shall also be equipped with a Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) cab, work lights, inside wiper bars to clean drums, and coca mats. Daily maintenance such as checking and maintaining fluid levels for proper operation and daily lubrication shall be the responsibility of the government. Award will be base upon lowest price/technically acceptable offer. The government reserves the right to make award on the initial quote received without discussion. 10) Each offeror shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications?Commercial Items with Alternate 1 with the offer.
