Description

The General Services Administration will be issuing a RFP solicitation for Design-Build Services for a project at the United States Courthouse and Federal Building located at 230 N. First Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. A Design-Build program document will be used to solicit bids from qualified Design-Build contractors. The document will serve as the basis for the design build contractors to provide a technical package and price proposal package to complete the project. Once awarded, the design build contractor will provide complete construction drawings and then proceed to complete construction. This project will involve the North and South elevations of the building, where the current fresh air intakes are located. The mechanical rooms, located at the North and South elevations, currently use fresh air intake fed through on-grade and above-grade openings from the basement to the 8th floor. The objective of the project is to seal off the current air intakes from the street level up forty feet to limit fresh air intake to the area at forty feet and above. All work will need to be closely coordinated with GSA to ensure undisturbed and normal operations of the building and its tenants during the construction period. Any disruptive work may have to be scheduled for after hours. The total estimated budget on this project is $500,000 - $1,000,000. All employees working on this project will need to pass a full background check through the Department of Homeland Security. Only those who have passed the background check will be allowed to work on the project. A pre-proposal conference will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the United States Courthouse and Federal Building located at 230 N. First Avenue, Phoenix, AZ in the Joint Use Conference Room, Suite 205.
