- This is a Sources Sought announcement, a market survey for written information only. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. The purpose of this announcement is to identify those companies with appropriate expertise that might be interested in responding to a formal solicitation from NAVSEA for providing a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or modified COTS maritime craft inter-communications system compatible with current military portable communications and vision enhancement systems. The host platform for the system will be NSW maritime craft. The system will replace the current intercommunications system. The system should be non-developmental or commercial off the shelf. The general background regarding usage and desired features of the system are as follows: The system must meet environmental and survivability specifications. The system must be configurable to support eight user access points supporting eight radios with one distribution system. The system must incorporate a bridging capability between multiple distribution systems. The system must use ten pin MKS-310 connectors and interoperable with AN/PRC-117F and AN/PRC-148 radios. Physical dimensions of the system (size, weight, footprint) must not exceed the physical dimensions of the current system, which can be requested from the technical rep, provided below. Descriptive information is sought in the form of brochures, specification sheets and company points of contact. It is highly desirable that firms be ISO 9001 certified in the manufacture of equipments used in the types of applications of interest specified herein. Design proposals requiring developmental funding are not of interest at this time; this RFI may not directly lead to a request for proposals. Deadline for submission is 12 February 2006. Inform ation should be submitted electronically to the attention of: Ms. Carol Brown, Contract Specialist, at carol.a.brown@navy.mil. Technical Questions concerning this announcement should be directed to Mr. Robert Murray, e-mail: Robert.I.Murray@navy.mil.
