Description
Bechtel SAIC Company, LLC (BSC) is soliciting expressions of interest and requesting information on design and installing of a Potable Water System and a Fire Water System. The two (2) systems will supply both potable water and fire water to four (4) one-story buildings that are expected to have a total occupancy of approximately 700 personnel. Attached are conceptual drawings of the potable water supply distribution system and the fire water system. The following information is preliminary and is not guaranteed to represent the final design. - Raw water will be supplied from an existing 8" PVC line. The water pressure will be approximately 60 psi and the flow rate approximately 260 gpm at the tie-in point. The raw water chemistry is contained in the attached analysis. All below ground piping is suggested to be PVC. - The Potable Water System will be fed from the existing raw water main, shall be required to be treated, and shall be stored prior to distribution. Potable water shall be treated to remove arsenic to the current EPA requirements and shall be chlorinated. After treatment, the potable water shall be stored in a steel potable water tank with an approximate capacity of 170,000 gallons. The potable water distribution system shall supply potable water at a peak flow rate of 350 gpm and an average flow rate of 110 gpm. The minimum required potable water pressure into each of the four buildings is 65-75 psi. The potable water system shall meet the requirements of Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, Administrative Code, NAC 445A, Water Controls. Potable water piping shall terminate approximately ten (10) feet from the site boundary of the Potable Water System location. A predetermined termination point for future tie-in to the Potable Water System will be identified. Connection to tie-in will be performed by others. - The Fire Water System will be fed from the existing raw water main and required to be stored prior to being pressurized through the fire water loop. The fire water shall be stored in a steel fire water tank with an approximate capacity of 300,000 gallons and then pressurized via a 150 hp diesel fire water pump with associated jockey pump prior to entry to the four buildings. The fire water piping shall terminate approximately ten (10) feet from the site boundary of the Fire Water System location. A predetermined termination point for future tie-in to the Fire Water System will be identified. Connection to tie-in will be performed by others. Provide your interest in receiving a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the design and installation of the two above described systems consisting site preparation, two steel field erected tanks, a 150 hp diesel fire water pump with associated jockey pump, potable water treatment and repressurization system, enclosures for both systems, and all interconnecting piping with freeze protection. Respondent is requested to provide the following information: 1) Estimated procurement lead times from time of award to delivery at the jobsite of each major piece of equipment and materials required for field erection. 2) Estimated construction time for the field erected tanks, enclosures, piping, etc.. 3) Recommendations for design optimization, design alternatives or other suggested recommendations.
