Description

The intent of the project is to perform stone masonry repair work on both east and west entry stairs located on the south face of the Federal Building, U.S. Post Office & Courthouse, 410 West Michigan Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI. Main Entrance Stair (East and West sides): install waterproof membrane substrate, remove and reset granite stair landing and first step in order to achieve a positive slope away from the building, replace entry doors and refinish and paint sidelites, repoint all stair components as required; replace, repoint, and reset cheek walls as required; re-finish, prime, and finish paint both handrails on the cheek walls. Railings at the area ways (South and East sides): Remove and replace railings. Optional work (at the roof parapet): remove existing conduit and caulk over existing stone cap joints and along the roofing membrane pressure bar, replace all conduits to original location when the job is complete, power is to remain uninterrupted and conduits water-tight during construction. Completion time is 60 calendar days from notice to proceed (if the option is exercised, an additional 60 days will be provided). The estimated price is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. This procurement is unrestricted in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and open to all business concerns. NAICS is 236220 with size standard of $31 million. This is a negotiated, best value procurement. Evaluation factors will consist of past performance and price. The solicitation will be available on or about February 14, 2006; the actual date for receipt of proposals will be stated in the solicitation. The solicitation will be available for download through the Federal Technical Data Solution (FedTeDS) website (fedteds.gov). All interested vendors must register with FedTeDS and registration requires that the following information be provided: (1) Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN), (2) DUNS Number or CAGE Code, (3) Telephone Number, and (4) E-Mail Address. Offerors will be responsible for downloading the solicitation and for monitoring FedBizOpps and FedTeDS for amendments and/or additional information. Proposals will be submitted to Chicago, IL (specific submission instructions will be stated in the solicitation). All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
