- Description
- Solicitation Number: HC1013-06-R-2000 (Please note: A previous Sources Sought Notice was posted under the title of Managed Services for Servers & Storage on Dec 20, 2004. A forthcoming notice will be issued regarding the Enterprise Storage Services requirement.) Service for the Processor Environment The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)/Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) Scott Field Office will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the acquisition of reliable, responsive, and cost effective processor infrastructure services of on-demand processing capabilities for specified operating environments such as Windows; RED HAT Linux; SUSE Linux; HP-UX, Sun Solaris; IBM AIX; IBM z/OS and IBM z/VM. The processing capacity infrastructure provided would be designed, delivered, installed, and maintained in concert with the Government, at any of the current (16) DISA Computing Services (CS) data centers or future DISA CS centers in the continental US (CONUS), the DISA CS outside CONUS (OCONUS) data centers in Hawaii and Germany, and other DISA or DISA-approved processing locations worldwide in which DISA CS may acquire an operational responsibility. The goal is to obtain a dynamically scalable processing capability utilizing an on-demand service approach that will readily adjust to changes in processing and throughput requirements, both increases and decreases, and is priced on a utility as-used basis. The service provider will acquire, install, deinstall, transport, configure and provide maintenance for the necessary hardware, operating system software and services to support the processing infrastructure associated with this acquisition. The initiative will include both the unclassified and classified environments. Contract award(s) will be made on the basis of full and open competition and will result in a Firm Fixed Price, Performance Based, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) type contract(s) and will include a base period of five years and three one year option periods. The RFP will be posted on or about 14 November 2005 on the World Wide Web at http://www.ditco.disa.mil under Contracting Opportunities on the DITCO Home Page. All inquiries regarding the Service for the Processor Environment RFP shall be submitted electronically and directed to Ms. Anne M.
