Description
The US Army ARDEC-Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for a tactical tripod kit to support the Leupold?? Mark 4?? 12-40x60mm Tactical Spotting Scope (TSS) with MIL Dot Reticule (Part # 53756), as currently used by US Army snipers. The kit includes a tripod assembly, soft carrying case, and hard transportation/storage case. The following requirements for the Tactical Tripod are: 1) the tripod shall be a lightweight and rugged support structure to provide for quick release of the TSS via a detachable interface. 2) Tripod shall be collapsible, and 3. adjustable in height for prone position with the minimum height of 14.5-inches from the center eyepiece of the TSS. 4) Tripod shall have adjustment for both azimuth and elevation, but it is preferred that the tripod include fine elevation adjustment, terrain leveling capability, and full adjustment from prone to sitting position. 5) Tripod shall survive repeated drop test from 4- feet height onto plywood over concrete. 5) Tripod shall remain operational at - 40 ??C thru +49 ??C temperatures. 6) The tripod shall also support the TSS in night vision configuration (NVC). The NVC consists of an AN/PVS-14 Monocular Night Vision Device attached to the spotting scope???s eyepiece via Monoloc??. The soft carrying case shall store and protect the TSS, anti-reflection device (ARD), laser filter unit (LFU), Monoloc??, and tripod assembly. The hard transportation/storage case shall hold the soft carrying case with its designated contents. In addition, it must include pressure relief and must meet IP67 standard. Government quantity estimate for these items is 6100 each. Interested firms shall provide a description of their product(s) along with other available specifications, brochures, manuals and other technical data as well as rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for the following quantities: 1 to 100 units, 101 to 600 units, and 601 to 1200 units. This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). This Market Survey is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this Market Survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this Market Survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. Please submit your responses no later than February 13, 2006.
