- NASA/MSFC has a requirement for 2 spectropyrometers with the following specifications. (1) a spectral range of 0.5 ? 1.0 um and shall have a dual temperature range of 800 ? 2500C and 1500 ? 4000C with accuracy of ? 0.2% for grey targets and ? 1% for non-grey targets between 800 and 2600C, reproducibility of ?1C, and resolution of 0.1C; (2) a 24 inch focal length lens with corresponding target spot size diameter of about 2.5 mm; (3) 7 meters in length of armored, multimode fiber optic light collection capability; (4) a helium-neon laser that will couple to the fiber for locating the measurement spot; (5) a keyed SMA-connector interface to the fiberoptic cable and have operator interfaces, such as mouse and keyboard, to allow communication to the proprietary software for system control and for display of the data on a supplied monitor; (6) software which shall provide the capability to allow the user to specify the path and a user-unique name for the datafiles PRIOR to data collection; (7) a program which will provide plots of emissivity versus wavelength; (8) the products sold will be free from defects in material and workmanship and will perform to Seller?s applicable specifications for a period of one (1) year from date of delivery to Buyer. MSFC intends to acquire the spectrometers from FAR Associates, Inc because they are the only known supplier with spectrometers which meet program requirements. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than Febraury 7, 2006. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice and amendments (if any). An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B". The FOB Point is Destination - Marshall Space Flight Center. The DPAS Rating is DO-C9. This procurement is a total small business set-aside.
