Description

TACOM-Rock Island has requirements for Sling, Engine and Transmission, NSN: 4910-01-243-5556. The sling shall be capable of overhead lifting, suspending, tilting, and leveling vehicle engines and transmissions. The sling will have the following load capacities; working load, not less than 4,000 pounds; proof load, not less than 8,000 pounds; and break load, not less than 14,044 pounds. The sling shall consist of the following components: a manually operated adjusting mechanism that adjusts and self locks so the load can not be tilted inadvertently, a lifting eyebolt with an opening of no less than 1 - 5/8 inch in diameter, and a sling that is no less than 65 inches long with swivel hooks at each end capable of 360 degree rotation, swivel hook opening shall be no less than 1 inch. Planned issue date of the solicitation is 10 Feb 2006. The government may order up to a maximum quantity of 2,000 each over the life of the contract. The solicitation is unrestricted and will result in a five year, firm-fixed price, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract with a guaranteed minimum quantity of 50 each. First Article Testing is not required. This solicitation will be issued electronically. Hardcopies will not be provided. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto.
