Description

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source purchase order to Herzog Automation Corporation, 16600 Sprague Rd. Suite 400 Cleveland, OH 44130. FDA will purchase one (1) Pellet Press from Herzog. The pellet press is being requested solely from Herzog because we already have piston and die sets that go with Herzog equipment and because this Herzog press offers the unique die size, unavailable from other manufacturers of automated presses that we require for preparing pellets that fit into liquid XRF cups, which is part of our standard operating procedure. This equipment will be added to existing equipment manufactured by the contractor and will increase the holding capacity at the animal facilities at FDA. NO REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of providing the required service as stated herein may submit a capability statement to document its ability to provide the required services, which will be considered if received by the tenth (10th) calendar day following the appearance of this announcement. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses or questions regarding this posting must be in writing and can be sent via email to joseph.pishioneri@fda.gov. No phone calls will be accepted. An award will be made in ten (10) calendar days from the date of this notice. This sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition for commercial items in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5.
