Description
FSC: 1010 NAICS: 332995 The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD), Louisville Detachment intends to procure Gun Control Units (GCU) IAW Dwg. 7244775, 200 hours of engineering services, and travel not to exceed $15,000. Engineering services are estimated to be required to support preparation for the Software Systems Safety Technical Review Panel (SSSTRP) and First Article testing. Travel is anticipated to NSWC PHD Louisville, Washington D.C., NSWC Dahlgren, and NSWC Crane in support of the SSSTRP preparation and presentation and First Article testing. Prospective offerors will be requested to provide stepladder pricing for the GCU in steps of 10 with maximum of 100. Estimated order quantity is 30. The GCU interfaces with the M242 25mm cannon (P/N 52711-6086360), the MK 38 Mods 0, 1, and 2 Machine Gun System and the MK 96 Mods 0 and 1 Gun Mount. The GCU provides control and drive for firing rate, ammunition drive selection solenoid, the gun sear solenoid, the gun motor and brake, and controls shutdown due to gun jams and misfires. Approximate weight for each GCU is 16 lbs. The first unit shall be tested by the Government using the tests identified in the Technical Specification, 53711-7244775 Paragraphs 6.3.1 (Qualification Testing) and 6.3.2 (Production Testing). First Article testing may be waived for contractors who have produced similar units in the past. The contractor shall perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on each GCU. The FAT shall verify that all electrical, mechanical and visual inspections and all system functional tests and demonstrations necessary to verify that each GCU meets the requirements of 53711-7244775 Paragraph 6.3.2. Delivery is required FOB Destination to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division, Louisville Kentucky within 10 months ARO for 1 ea GCU for First Article testing. 5 ea GCU are required per month starting 90 days after successful completion of First Article testing. Anticipated issue date is February 3, 2006. Anticipated closing date is 1:00 p.m. EST March 7, 2006.
