- Point of Contact for this Project is Mr. Jan Slick (817) 886-1050 Construct a modified standard design fire station at Hood Army Airfield, Fort Hood Texas. This project will include five apparatus bays, storage for bunker gear, storage for hazardous material absorbents, commercial wash room, decontamination room, breath ing air fill station, kitchen, dinning room, training room, inspectors area, dormitory rooms, administration area, workroom, physical training room, hardstand, fueling station, oil/water separator, emergency power, and information systems. Supporting faci lities will include water, sewer, gas, electric service, paving, walks, curbs and gutters; access drives, POV parking, safety traffic signals, security lighting; storm drainage, information systems, and site improvements. Access for individuals with disab ilities will be provided. Anti-terrorism/Force Protection measures include hardening of windows and doors. Infrared unit heaters in apparatus bays and self-contained gas-fired units through-out the remaining facility will provide heating. Special founda tions required due to expansive soils. Demolish one (1) Bldg (13,124 Total SF). Air conditioning (estimated 55 tons). This requirement is offered to all qualified, responsive eligible 8(a) business concerns in accordance with FAR 19.8. Proposals wil l be restricted to certified 8(a) firms with a bona fide place of business in the State of Texas only. All other firms are deemed ineligible to submit offers under the 8(a) criteria. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applic able to this project is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. Small Business Standard is $28.5 million. The construction project price range is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The contract award will be based on Best Value to the Governme nt, which may or may not result in accepting the lowest-priced offer. To determine best value, the Governments proposal evaluation will consist of but not limited to evaluation of the offerors technical and management capabilities as well as price. The s olicitation is tentatively scheduled to issue on or about 6 Feb 2006, and proposals will be due on or about 7 Mar 2006.
