- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns (SDVOSB), or Small Business concerns only. The estimated value of this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. NAICS is 336611 and the SIC is 3731. The acquisition is for DRYDOCK repairs to the USCG GALLATIN. All work will be performed at the Contractor?s facility. The place of performance for this vessel is restricted to 25 miles of the vessel?s home port. USCGC GALLATIN?S home port is North Charleston, South Carolina. The performance period will be 11 days with a start date of on or about 27 March 2006. The work will include, but is not limited to: REMOVE/INSPECT NR1 AND NR2 CONTROLLABLE PITCH PROPELLER (CPP) BLADES, REPLACE ONE CPP HUB ASSY, REMOVE AND INSPECT NR2 TAIL AND INTERMEDIATE PROPULSION SHAFTS, INSPECT NR2 STRUT(S) & SHAFT BEARINGS (REPLACE AS NEEDED), SERVICE BOTH CPP HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish a welding and brazing. At the present time, this acquisition will be issued full and open. However, in accordance with FAR 19, if your firm is HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, or Small Business concerns certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail to Dawn.J.Dabney@uscg.mil or by fax (757) 628-4676. Questions may be referred to Mrs. Dawn Dabney at (757) 628-4636. In response please include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers, and (c) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by JANUARY 24, 2006. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside, or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns, or Small Business set-aside. Failure to submit all information may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set-aside or as Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, or as Small Business set-aside, will be posted on FedBizOpps website at http://www.esp.gov.
