- Channel Improvements, Wills Creek Local Flood Protection Project, Cumberland, Maryland is being advertised as an Invitation for Bid (IFB). This procurement will contain Optional Items. Work involves the repair of eroded portions of the Wills Creek concrete channel, including removal of old concrete and repair of eroded portions and repair of reinforcing steel. The channel is an extension of Wills Creek, carrying water through Cumberland, Maryland into the North Branch Potomac River. The original op en channel improvements for Wills Creek were approximately 1.6 miles in length, consisting of concrete sloped paving, concrete bottom paving, and vertical concrete walls. Most of the existing concrete surface area does not require repair. The abundance o f erosion is located along the edge of the bottom paving sections (slab and/or toe wall), and additional repairs are required along the sloped paving section (sloped walls), but no repairs are required on the vertical walls. In order to satisfactorily com plete the proposed concrete repairs, the contractor is responsible for redirecting the water flow in Wills Creek away from the proposed concrete repairs, the contractor is responsible for redirecting the water flow in Wills Creek away from the proposed rep airs in the concrete channel. Estimated cost of construction is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Completion no later than 210 calendar days. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. Contractors requests for this solicitation will be performed through ASFI. The solicitation will be provided in an electronic format, fre e of charge, to all registered plan holders. The media through which the Government chooses to issue this solicitation is the Internet only. This solicitation will not be issued in paper. In order to reduce the possibility of error and to increase the q uality of our service to you, all deliveries, packages, etc. must include the name of the particular project. All deliveries, packages, etc. of more than one box or container must be bound together by tape or other means. In order to comply with the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996, all contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be considered for award of a Federal contract.
