- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to issue solicitation RFQ 50507-010-6 for the provision of Life Connection Program Spiritual Guides (Protestant Christian (2 positions),Catholic, and Islamic) for the Federal Medical Center Carswell, Fort Worth, Texas. The contractor(s) shall lead religious services and provide instruction in the core curriculum topics for inmates participating in the Bureau of Prisons Residential Life Connections Pre-Release Program. The selected contractor must possess, through a combination of education and experience, the ability to lead and instruct the tenants of the appropriate faith (Protestant Christian, Catholic Christian, and/or Islamic). The contractor must have excellent inter-personal communication skills. The contractor must possess an ordination certificate or like document showing the contractor is a recognized Spiritual Leader in good standing with the faith community. Must possess a Bachelor or Arts degree from an accredited college or university with a major in religious studies, religious education, or a related curriculum. It is estimated the contract will include 1040 sessions (260 each position) for the base year and 1040 sessions for each of four (4)option years. Each session is (4) hours. The contractor will work approximately 20 hours per week for each required position. Sessions will be held on Monday through Friday (12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.). The contract period shall consist of effective date of award through 12 months from effective date of award and four 12-month option periods for renewal. The solicitation will be available on or about February 1, 2006, and will be distributed solely through the website at www.fedbizopps.gov. All future information concerning the acquisition, including solicitation amendments will be distributed through the website. The anticipated receipt of quotes is March 1, 2006. The solicitation is unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contract for which they are eligible.
