Description

The Albuquerque Indian Health Service(IHS) is soliciting price quotations for a Sexually Transmitted Disease(STD) Surveillance Consultant for its Division of Epidemiology and Disease Prevention. The services under this contract shall be involved with accessement of the current STD and other infectious disease surveillance systems of the Navajo Nation Division of Health, the Navajo Area IHS, and other agencies in the Four Corners Area which include, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah; to develop a surveillance plan for the Navajo Nation and to assist in implementation of this plan. The contractor will be based in the Albuquerque IHS, Division of Epidemiology and Disease Prevention; however, the contractor will be required to perform services on site within the Navajo Nation reservation, Navajo IHS Area Service Units, and other surrounding locations. The Governments requirements of the contractor are estimated at 1880 hours of service during the contract year commencing on or about February 7, 2006 through February 6, 2007. Interested parties must have a high school diploma or successfully completed the General Educational Development test, plus any combination of college level education or clerical experience with some health experience totaling three (3) years. Consideration factors include; knowledge of agency STD policies, procedures, and terminology, data collection/filing, report writing, ability to articulate ideas cross-culturally, ability to work effectively with the general public, knowledge of computer operation, usage and data entry, must be capable of utilizing standardized data processing rules to complete computer database software packages, must be knowledge of the Privacy Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accoutability Act (HIPAA). Interested parties must have or the ability to obtain a DUN and Bradstreet Universal Numbering System Number and be registered in the Contractor Central Registration (CCR). Interest parties must submit a price quotation and curriculum vitae no later than Close of Business (4:30 MST) on JANUARY 31, 2006.
