Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a Base Year, with four, one-year option, sole-source, firm-fixed price contract with Pitney Bowes, Inc., Chesapeake, VA, for the maintenance of Arrival Systems, DM-1000 Mailing Machines and Scales, DM-500 Mailing Machines and Scales, and DM-200 Mailing Machines and Scales, under Request for Quote (RFQ) Number 0214119. Pitney Bowes, Inc., is to provide the FBI with maintenance on the above equipment. These mailing machines and scales are located throughout the CONUS, Hawaii, Alaska, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Market research has determined that the FBI?s requirement can only be provided by Pitney Bowes, Inc., because they are the only known vendor that can disengage the equipment an provide parts holding the warranty on the equipment. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 2:00PM, EST, January 19,2006, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Theresa M. Powell, Contracting Officer, at 703.632.1607. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification number is 423420; the size standard is 500 employees. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
