Description
This Federal Business Opportunity Announcement is notice the TRICARE Region 6, 7 & 8 which includes 46 Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming are initiating the standardization process for the product line of Thoracic catheters, Mediastinal catheters and Trocar catheters. The intent of this standardization effort is to establish regionally preferred sources for hospital supply items and to standardize purchasing of these products for the MTFs. Additional TRICARE Regions may elect to join after the award. Clinical Product Team (CPTs) will evaluate this product line. CPTs are c omposed of Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Technicians, Infection Control Officers and other clinicians who have expertise and knowledge of the of the products. They will review and technically evaluate the products submitted. TRICARE Region 6, 7 & 8 deems the CPT members to be experts. Therefore, they are qualified to determine which products are acceptable. Their recommendation can be accomplished by literature review, presentation, demonstration or clinical eval uation. Vendors interested in having their products evaluated for possible inclusion in the standardization process sh ould carefully review the stated requirements below. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS for Thoracic catheters, Mediastinal catheters and Trocar catheters are listed but not limited to: 1. Clear thermosensitive PVC or thrombo-resistant, kink resistant Silicone 2. Rang ing in sizes 12 French to 40 French and available in both Straight and Right Angled 3. Catheters must have a radiopaque maker line along with Numeric depth markers at 2cm increments 4. Beveled connector end 5. Smooth side eyes and open distal tip 6. Steril e. If your company currently holds a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) for the Medical-Surgical product line for Thoracic catheters, Mediastinal catheters and Trocar catheters your company is eligible to participate in the standardization effort f or this region. If your company is not a current DAPA holder for this product line, you may still be eligible to participate in this standardization effort for this region by contacting the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP), Mr. John Charalabidis a t (215) 737-7124 or e-mail (John.Charalabidis@dla.mil) to apply for a DAPA. Your company will be considered once DAPA paperwork is pending at DSCP. Distribution of these products for the MTFs will be accomplished through Cardinal Health, the DoD Medical-Su rgical Prime Vendor for Regions 6, 7 & 8. After you have notified the POC of your intent to participate, the POC will advise you of the next steps to take. If your company can provide any of these products, please forward literature of all items available from your company that meet the product descriptions above and any corresponding product literature no later than 15 February, 2006. Those companies that do not reply by this date may be eliminated from consideration. If the CPT recommends a company, the T RBO may request sales data to facilitate a conversion plan. This information will be treated as proprietary and not releasable. Suppliers may be required to conduct clinical trials and provide clinical samples at no cost to the government.
