Description

THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS only. The purpose of the Source Sought Synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified small business sources in construction services for the performance of a Repair and Alteration project at the U. S. Custom House in New Orleans, LA, as a result of damage sustained by Hurricane Katrina. The U. S. Custom House is registered on the National Register of Historic Places and has been designated as a National Historic Landmark. The scope of work will require at a minimum: interior and exterior finishes, HVAC repairs, electrical repairs, life safety repairs and possible historic restoration of interior spaces The estimated cost of construction is between $5,000,000 - $10,000,000. NAICS Code is 236220. Bonding for the full contract price will be required. It is anticipated that the building will be completely unoccupied during the construction phase. The construction contractor will be selected using a two stage source selection process. Interested parties who meet the above requirements are requested to submit a letter of interest to Lisa Smith, Contracting Officer, no later than January 18, 2006. As part of your submission, identify your business size, bonding capacity and past experience which demonstrates that your firm is qualified to perform this type of work and current capability to mobilize and staff the project.
