- This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice: The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL) intends to acquire construction services for the installation of network cabling at our facility in Ames, Iowa. The contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, equipment, materials, testing, supervision and other general construction necessary to complete this project. Connection to the Local and Wide Area networks is required in addition to connection of a security network. All work shall be done in accordance with the latest applicable codes and regulations. This requirement is subject to Davis Bacon wage rates. It is anticipated that a single award will be made. All effort shall be completed within approximately fifty-one (51) days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This is a full and open procurement which is to be awarded as a fixed price contract to the most qualified company based upon best value not low bid. The successful company will be required to furnish all applicable bonds (bid, payment and/or performance - which is a reimbursable cost). Requirement will be specified in the solicitation. A site visit to the facility is required and will be referenced in the solicitation. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation number APHIS-06-022 is to be affixed to all documents submitted in reference to this requirement. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be released on or about January 25, 2006 and proposals will be due on February 6, 2006.
