- The Social Security Administration (SSA), Wilkes Barre Data Operations Center (WBDOC), 1150 East Mountain Drive, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702 7997 has a requirement for a Contractor to provide Armed Guard Services at the facility. The Contractor will be responsible for maintaining an environment in which citizens and Government employees can conduct business in safety with confidence. The facility includes the building, a maintenance building, salt sheds, roadways, sidewalks and parking lots on approximately 434,877 square feet of grounds. The building occupies approximately 1.52,897 square feet of office space and is occupied by a workforce of approximately 1, 100 S SA employees that work 24 hours a day 7 days per week. The Contractor will be responsible for manning posts, traffic control, security and fire systems and other duties required to maintain a secure environment. This is 100% set-aside for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 561612. The size standard for this NAICS code is $12 million. The SSA anticipates awarding a firm fixed price contract for this effort. The period of performance will be for one year (12 months in duration) with four (4) 12 month option periods, if exercised. This requirement will be procured utilizing procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation. It is anticipated that the Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on or about January 3, 2006. The RFP will be issued under solicitation number SSA RFP 06 1019. The solicitation and any related documents for this procurement will be made available to interested parties through electronic media for downloading via the internet at Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) at http://www.fedbizopps.gov.
