Description

Description: Notice of availability of a prospectus for solicitation of proposals for the operation of a food service facility at the Charlestown Navy Yard within Boston National Historical Park, Boston, Massachusetts. This prospectus for solicitation will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about January 10, 2006. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The required visitor services include: High quality food and beverage service to provide lunch, snacks, and planned events. The required operating season is April through October. The concessioner provides all necessary personnel, equipment, inventory, and supplies. The existing concessioner has a right of preference to the new concession contract. Any successor concessioner is obligated to purchase the existing concessioner's property in connection with the operation. The minimum franchise fee to be paid to the National Park Service is five percent of the concessioner's annual gross receipts. Annual gross receipts for 2004 were $254,609. The term of the contract will be five years. The prospectus will explain the business opportunity, the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract, the proposal instructions and proposal package (including the selection factors). The solicitation, selection and award of the concession contract will be conducted pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51. A pre-proposal site visit is scheduled for February 1, 2006 at 10:00 AM.
