Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, TX intends to make a single award for the provision of Dental Hygenist services for inmates at the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) and Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Schuylkill, located in Minerville, Pennsylvania. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 621399 (Size Standard: $6 million). The contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to: Dental health education; dental prophylaxis and topical fluoride application; dental screening examination; subgingival scaling and preparation of patients for periodontal surgery; root planning; soft tissue curettage; dental charting; periodontal charting; prescribed treatment of localized alveolar osteitis and pericoronitis; preparing placing and removing periodontal packs; placing temporary fillings; polishing amalgam and composite restoration; application of pit and fissure sealants; placing and removing rubber dams; and removing sutures. The contractor shall be knowledgeable of all infection control techniques and be able to apply them. Contractor will also be expected to handle telephone communication in the dental clinic, make appropriate entries in the dental record, appointment book for prophylaxes, type reports and correspondence, and other general duties recognized as routine in a dental clinic. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The contract periods will consist of a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods for renewal with an estimated maximum of 1560 sessions per year. The schedule will normally consists of thirty (30) one (1) hour sessions per week, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period, (if applicable). Each year will consist of approximately 1560 sessions. At a minimum, the individual/organization providing Dental Hygienist services under contract award must have graduated from an accredited school or program; must have passed written national Boards and clinical Regional Boards and be a registered Dental Hygienist; maintain a current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Radiology Certification, and; have two years experience as a Dental Hygienist. Quoters must specifically identify the individual that will be performing these services under any subsequent contract award. The solicitation will be available on/about January 25, 2006 and will be distributed solely through this website. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides downloading instructions to obtain all documents relating to this solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including the solicitation and any subsequent amendments, will be distributed through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. The date for receipt of quotations is on/about February 17, 2006; however, this is a projected estimate and quoters should refer to Page 1 of the solicitation (Block #8) for the actual date quotations are due. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. This solicitation is a total small business set-aside. All responsible small business concerns are encouraged to submit a quotation which may be considered. See Note 1.
