- Description
- NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) is hereby soliciting information from industry regarding their capabilities in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). The information will help identify potential sources for contemplated Architect and Engineering (A/E) work at JSC that have verifiable LEED capabilities and experience to meet NASA requirements for sustainable building design as mandated by NASA Policy Directive (NPD) 8820.3. This directive requires incorporation of sustainable design principles to the maximum extent possible to reduce life-cycle costs, implement pollution-prevention principles, and minimize facility impacts on natural resources while maximizing occupant health, safety, and productivity. LEED is the primary implementation methodology to facilitate this initiative at JSC. Small businesses are also encouraged to respond to the information requested. Limited experience with LEED does not exclude firms from responding. NASA JSC is interested in responses from those firms who are willing to invest and develop their expertise in LEED capability as part of the total available resources for designing projects at JSC. A specific LEED capability development strategy may be part of any A/E acquisition process. In addition to the comments and answers provided, responses must be submitted with limited Green Building Council or other documentation needed to support your responses. Do not submit photographs of buildings, drawings, etc. Answer the questions and provide sufficient, but limited support information to substantiate your responses. 1.) Please provide the name and address of firm, size of business; number of years in business; average annual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; and, whether it is a large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned business. 2.) Please provide a list of all certified LEED projects. Include the name of the project, the location, and LEED certification level. 3.) Please list any additional LEED projects submitted for certification. Include the name of the project, the location, and the certification level submitted for certification. 4.) Please list any LEED projects currently in progress now or in the past, if not already identified above, and LEED certification level or targeted level. 5.) Please list the number of LEED accredited professionals on your staff and indicate their discipline. 6.) Please provide the number of LEED projects on which each LEED professional worked. Were they responsible for the LEED design? For the LEED documentation? If not, please state why. 7.) Please describe each of the LEED project(s) briefly (one paragraph) and provide a copy of the LEED scorecard(s) for the project(s). Include size, cost of construction, building features and General Construction firms that built them. It is emphasized that this Request for Information is for planning and information purposes only and is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contractual agreement, nor will the Government pay for information solicited. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offeror?s responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based on responses hereto. All responses shall be submitted to Maria Hooks no later than January 20, 2006. Please reference NNJ06ZBJ301L in any response. Any referenced notes may be viewed at the following URLs linked below. Responses to this request for information may be sent via email, fax, or mail. Packages may be mailed to NASA/JSC, Mail Code: BJ3, Attn: Maria Hooks, 2101 NASA Parkway, Houston, TX 77058.
